Logitech Dinovo For Mac

I still don't get the logo, like HP Lovecraft designed it or something.

It was no surprise to see Logitech at Macworld '08. From the Golden Age of the Macintosh through the Dark Ages of Copland to the Intel Renaissance, Logitech has always been there for Mac users. Except for keyboards. For some reason Logitech, or someone at Logitech who designs keyboards, must hate the Mac. What other reason could the company have for denying Mac users an input device, especially one as cool as the diNovo Edge, and now the palm-top diNovo Mini.

Backlit and with Bluetooth, the new $149 palmtop keyboard and integrated trackpad switches between traditional mode (trackpad) and media mode (arrow keys) for use with HTPCs running Windows. It's even compatible with the PlayStation 3. But not the Mac mini. I wanted to know why, and a really cool Logitech representative was kind enough to let me rant while wearing my dork pass.

I ended up choosing the Logitech DiNovo Edge keyboard for Mac - wow, what a difference! Great finish and feel, the keys have just the right amount of travel for me, and it STAYS CONNECTED!!! It's nice having the recharging stand too - everything is designed to look great on the desk next to the iMac. Welcome to Logitech Support. Register Getting Started FAQ Community. Jade: I guess my first question is why do Logitech keyboard designers hate the Mac?
Logitech Guy smiles: We love the Mac. We love Apple.
Jade: Yeah, I believe that, at least with all the other Logitech peripherals, mice, speakers, even that nookie 3D thing, whatever it does. But the last cool keyboard for the Mac was the Logitech Cordless Desktop S 530 Laser, and that was released two years ago.
Logitech Guy: Have you seen the Wave?
Jade: Yeah, but that's just a keyboard. You could make me feel a lot better by telling me the very expensive and incredibly cool diNovo keyboards will support the Mac soon, especially the infinitely cool diNovo mini. Do you have one here?
Logitech Guy: No, but it will work on a Mac.
Jade exploding in hope: Really? The trackpad, too?
Logitech Guy: Unfortunately, no.
Jade imploding in despair: Oh.
Logitech Guy: But that is changing. In fact, you can probably expect Mac support later this year.
Jade exploding again: You've given me a reason to keep on living, thanks.

It looks like Logitech really does love Apple. Or at least the booth guys say what the crazy people want to hear to get rid of them. Either way, I feel better.
